Watchmen is a 2019 American superhero drama limited series based on the 1986 Watchmen DC Comics. It acts as a sequel/remix of the original Watchmen comics and film. The series premiered on HBO on October 20, 2019, and concluded its nine-episode run on December 15. A prequel comic entitled "Rorschach" was released in 2020.
Set in an alternate history where masked vigilantes are treated as outlaws, Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name, while attempting to break new ground of its own.
