Theodosia Burr Goodman, known professionally as Theda Bara. Also known as The Vamp, Serpent of the Nile, Theo, The Queen of Vampires, Purgatory’s Ivory Angel, The Wickedest Woman in the World, and The Devil’s Handmaiden, was an American silent film, stage actress, and screenwriter. Bara was one of the more popular actresses of the silent era and one of cinema's early sex symbols.
