The Taking of Pelham One Two Three neo noir/suspense film released in 1974.
In the film, four armed men take control of a New York City subway car and takes everyone inside hostage. They threatened to kill one passenger inside per minute if they do not listen to their commands; a million dollars in cash. The film was directed by Joseph Sargent and stars Walter Matthau, Robert Shaw and Martin Balsam. It is based off of Morton Freedgood's 1973 novel of the same name. The film was remade in 2009.
