The Russian Specialist (released under the alternative title known as The Mechanik) is a 2005 German-American vigilante action-thriller film directed by and starring Dolph Lundgren, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Bryan Edward Hill. The film co-stars Ben Cross, Ivan Petrushinov, Olivia Lee and Raicho Vasilev.
Former Russian Special Forces commando Nick Cherenko (Dolph Lundgren) abandons his violent past when his wife and child are killed by gangsters. However, years later he is hired to retrieve an abducted girl and, discovering that the kidnappers are the same thugs who slaughtered his family, sets out to exact bloody, bullet-ridden revenge.
