The Confession (French: L'aveu) is a biographical/political thriller film released 1970.

In the film, a Czechoslovak Communist Party official is suddenly captured by people who claim to be above the government. As he wonders what they want from him, he begins to undergo horrific brainwashings. The film was directed by Costa-Gavras and stars Yves Montand, Simone Signoret, and Michel Vitold. It is based off of the memoir L'aveu by Arthur London, which was written after his own experiences under the Czechoslovak government.
