The Cat and the Canary is a 1927 American silent Universal comedy-horror film directed by the late Paul Leni, produced by the late Paul Kohner, and starring the late Forrest Stanley, the late Laura La Plante, the late Creighton Hale, the late Flora Finch, the late Tully Marshall, and the late Gertrude Astor. It is a film adapted from the 1922 play of the same name, written by the late John Willard.
