
Star Trek: The Newspaper Comics are a series of 20 Star Trek comics consisting of 1,400 comic strips which were printed in daily newspapers from 1979-1983, produced by the Los Angeles Times Syndicate, and reprinted by IDW Publishing in 2012. The series takes place between Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
The strips take place on the starship USS Enterprise chronologically after the first Star Trek film, and when it began it used the characters, Starfleet alien races, uniforms, sets, and props from the film.
