
Star Trek: First Contact is a 1996 American science fiction film which is a sequel to the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation. It was released on November 22, 1996 by Paramount Pictures. It is the eighth Star Trek film following Star Trek Generations and it is followed by Star Trek: Insurrection in 1998.
The Borg travel back in time intent on preventing Earth's first contact with an alien species. Captain Picard and his crew pursue them to ensure that Zefram Cochrane makes his maiden flight reaching warp speed.
