Spiral: From the Book of Saw is a 2021 American horror film directed by Darren Lynn Bousman and written by Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger, as well as starring Chris Rock. As a reboot, it is set in the Saw universe, though it is not directly related to any of the previous films.
It is preceded by Jigsaw and followed by Saw X.
Working in the shadow of his father, Detective Ezekiel "Zeke" Banks and his rookie partner take charge of an investigation into grisly murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city's gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer's morbid game.
