Randall Flagg, also known as Walter Padick, Walter o'Dim, The Man in Black, Marten Broadcloak, Ralph White, Richard Farris, The Dark Man, and Flagg the Hooded (along with a long line of other aliases) is the main antagonist of the Stephen King Multiverse, serving as the main antagonist of The Stand, The Dark Tower octology, the Gwendy's Button Box trilogy, and The Eyes of the Dragon, the overarching antagonist of The Little Sisters of Eluria and Carrie, the titular villainous protagonist of "The Dark Man," and a minor antagonist in "Blind Willie."
He is a supernatural cataclysmic entity who can shapeshift into several different forms. His goal is to bring down civilization through destruction and conflict.
In cinema, he serves as the main antagonist of The Stand miniseries, its remake, and The Dark Tower, and as the unseen overarching antagonist of the Carrie franchise.
He was portrayed by Jamey Sheridan in the 1994 miniseries The Stand, Matthew McConaughey in The Dark Tower, Jasper Pääkkönen in the television adaptation of the Dark Tower, and Alexander Skarsgård in the 2020 miniseries The Stand.
