Pompeii is a 2014 American, German, and Canadian Tri Star Pictures historical disaster, war, and romance film directed by Paul William Anderson, produced by Paul, Don Carmody, Jeremy Bolt, and Robert Kulzer, and starring Kit Harington, Emily Browning, Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje, Kiefer Sutherland, Carrie Anne-Moss, and Jared Harris. It is a film inspired by the destructive events of Pompeii (Italy) at the end of the first century AD.
A few days before the legendary eruption of Mount Vesuvius, the slave Milo (Kit Harington) is trapped inside a ship, heading for Naples. He will do anything to escape and save the woman (Emily Browning) he loves, as well as help his best friend (Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje), a gladiator who is in difficulty inside the Colosseum.
