Oz

Oz is an American prison drama television series set at a fictional men's prison created and principally written by Tom Fontana. "Oz" is the nickname for the Oswald State Correctional Facility, formerly Oswald State Penitentiary, a fictional level 4 maximum-security state prison in New York.

The nickname "Oz" is also a reference to the classic film The Wizard of Oz, which popularized the phrase, "There's no place like home." In contrast, a poster for the series uses the tagline: "It's no place like home". Moreover, most of the series' story arcs are set in "Emerald City", a wing named after a setting from the fictional Land of Oz in L. Frank Baum's Oz books, first described in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Season 2[]

In "Losing Your Appeal", 22 names are shown on the first page of murderers. However, they are too blurry to read.
In "Animal Farm", Vernon Schillinger implies to Tobias Beecher that he had is wife killed in prison and only staged her death as a suicide. However, it is more likely that he only said this as a taunt due to his hatred of Beecher. Beecher himself also believed he was lying since he received a suicide note from his late wife in the mail.

Season 3[]

Originally, Yuri Kosygin was going to be murdered by a character named Lana Keese (who never actually appears in the show as is) in "Secret Identities". However, the scene was never filmed and the story line was ultimately dropped, leaving Yuri's fate within the shows canon a mystery.
