Outlast

Outlast is a series of psychological horror video game developed and published by Red Barrels.

The series began in 2013 and continues to this day, with three main entries, a DLC for the first game, and a comic book series beginning in 2016 and concluding in 2017.

  • Mass suicides ensued when Murkoff expanded mind control programs for public testing in 1978.

  • The Hat Box Murders are in relation to Afghanistan veterans, who are mentioned as having likely killed a lot of people in total.

• David Annapurna is locked up in Mount Massive Asylum as an inmate and presumably died during, or prior to, the incident, although it is never specified. This also seems to apply to some various other mentioned employees, albeit more indirectly, such as Dr. Samul.
• Although it is possible to save the Murkoff executive, this does not seem to be the canonical version of events, since witnessing his death is required for the "Dr. Rick Trager" note.
• Though deaths from Outlast: Whistleblower are counted first to those that would reappear in Outlast, the same camera footage of the same few rooms are reused in both and so will only be counting the area if seen in person.
