One Piece is an action/comedy anime series created by Toei Animation based off of the manga series of the same name and was directed by Kōnosuke Uda, Junji Shimizu, Munehisa Sakai, Hiroaki Miyamoto, Toshinori Fukazawa, and Tatsuya Nagamine. The series began in 1999 and continues to this day, consisting of over 1,000 episodes. As of now, the series also consists of fifteen films set between arcs that will be counted on separate pages. There also exists six specials that take place during and between seasons, though the five specials that merely retell events that have already been counted will be covered on separate pages as a different non-canon continuity. In 2023, a live action series was released on Netflix.
This page only uses the English Funimation dub available on Netflix to count all of the deaths since it's the official English version. The Odex and 4Kids dubs will be counted separately.

Notes
In General
By Character
- Since Zoro's main weapons of choice are three katanas, any attacks with them that show his opponent(s) not getting up will be assumed to be fatal.
- Although Sanji prefers to fight unarmed, his kicks are shown to be powerful enough to smash stone and kick small ships into the air. Add the fact that he was trained by Zeff who was known for killing people with his powerful kicks, his attacks are also considered fatal much like Zoro's swords, unless his opponents are shown surviving.
- Luffy's base form is powerful enough to send Humans and stronger species flying as well as effortlessly knock over trees and move small ships in the water with his bare hands, so much like Zoro and Sanji, if his opponents aren't shown getting up, they will be assumed to be dead unless proven otherwise.
- Usopp's slingshot is able to be just as deadly as actual guns, so his attacks with it will be considered deadly unless shown otherwise.
- Chopper in his larger and more muscular forms are powerful enough to send Humans flying effortlessly, so once again if his opponents aren't shown getting up, they will be assumed to be dead unless proven otherwise.
By Group
Alabasta Rebels
- The Alabasta Rebels will be counted as civilians in the group deaths section.
Baroque Works
- According to Vivi during "The Hero of Alabasta and the Ballerina on Deck", a group of 13 ships contained at least 200 members, meaning there's at least 15 members on each ship.
Marines
- Each Marine ship has 34 crewmen on board.
- According to Apis during "Foreboding of a New Adventure! The Puzzling Girl, Apis", a Navy fleet consists of eight ships (seven are shown, though she already sank one previously), meaning there's at least 272 crewmen in total.
- Whether or not the Marines are villains or allies entirely depends on whether or not they're attacking the Straw Hat pirates and who they're being lead by, which is why sometimes they're not listed in bold and other times they are.
Unaffiliated Criminals
- This section refers to random characters that have no known affiliation with any criminal group at all and mostly work alone, such as muggers for example.
Unknown Groups
- This section refers to random characters that have no known affiliation with any group at all, not even being civilians by default, due to them possibly being one of many different groups with it unclear as to who it could potentially be.

- In the episode "Survive! The Mother Bell-mère and Nami's Family!", Bell-mère is shot and killed by Arlong during a flashback, however her death was already counted during episode 5, so it won't be counted again.
- Nami mentions that Arlong sank five Marine ships off-screen after Bell-mère's death.
- In the episode "Luffy Stands Up! End of a Broken Promise!", a Navy ship is shown sinking, however it's more than likely it was one of those mentioned in the previous episode.
- In the episode "You've Been Waiting For It! The Return of Captain Buggy!", the dragon killed by Richie will not be counted since it was only in his dream and therefore was not real.
- According to the One Piece Wiki, there were a maximum total of 50 tribesmen in the Kumate tribe.

- In the episode "Buggy's Revenge! The Man who Smiles at the Execution Platform!", Buggy reveals that their world's population is "hundreds of billions" of people, due to the planet One Piece takes place on being at least twelve times bigger than Earth by circumference.

- Later, Monkey D. Dragon creates a giant gust of wind that sends several people flying, although it's unknown if anyone died.
- In the episode "Luffy, Completely Surrounded! Admiral Nelson's Secret Plan", six Marines fall into the ocean after Zoro cut the chain they were running on and Luffy launches a massive crowd of Marines into the ocean, however it's more than likely that they know how to swim and were able to do so to the nearest ships.
- Later, several fossilized bodies of Dragons are shown, though it's impossible to know just how many there are.
- In the episode "A Man's Promise, Luffy and the Whale Vow to Meet Again", it's shown that there were at least 16 members of the Rumbar Pirates and it's mentioned that they most likely died somewhere between a 50 year timespan, however it's confirmed in a later episode and so they won't be counted in this one.
Season 2
- In the episode "A Pirate-Loving Town? Arrival at Whiskey Peak", it's revealed that all of the "spikes" on the giant cacti on Whiskey Peak Island are actually the graves of pirates on massive hills. Unless it's mentioned as to how many graves there are, only those focused on will be counted for the minimum.
- In the episode "Deliver Princess Vivi! Luffy Pirates Depart", it's mentioned that at least 2,000 people work for Baroque Works.
- In the episode "Try Hard, Koby! Diary of Koby-Meppo's Marine Struggles", it's mentioned that Luffy ate entire bucket's worth of fishing bait, though it's unknown as to how many maggots were inside.
- In the episode "Humongous Battle! The Giants Dorry and Brogy!", there is a massive pile of Human skulls shown in Brogy's cave, however it's impossible to tell how many are in it so none will be counted.
Season 3
- In the episode "Nami is Sick? Beyond the Snow that Falls on the Ocean!", Vivi mentions that "thousands" of pirates have died of fever when crossing oceans in the past, but doesn't say how many.
- The population of Alabasta according to Vivi is 1,000,000 people.
- Later on in the episode "The Miracle Sprint! Alabasta the Animal Land", a soldier mentions that the Rebel army has risen to "over 2,000,000" people, so it's possible that Vivi simply misremembered the population due to being away undercover for a long time.
- The population of Alabasta according to Vivi is 1,000,000 people.
- In the episode "Island that Lives in Snow! Ascend The Drum Rockies!", Wapol, Chess, and Kuromarimo defeat 14 Lapins off-screen, although it's unknown which ones are dead and which ones were merely unconscious, so none will be counted.

- In the episode "Showdown in a Heat Haze! Ace vs. the Gallant Scorpion!", Scorpion mentions having beaten "Double Barrel" Danny and "Hellbattler" Luther, however not only is it not specified if he killed them or not, it's more than likely he was lying since he also said he defeated Blackbeard to draw out Ace.
- In the episode "Luffy vs. Vivi! A Tearful Vow for Comrades", it's mentioned that the rebel army consists of 700,000 people.
- In the episode "The Alabasta War Front! City of Dreams, Rainbase", Koza mentions several rebels dying, but doesn't say how many.

- In the episode "Alubarna Grieves! The Fierce Captain Karoo!", Sanjii beats up three rebel soldiers and three royal army soldiers in self defense, although it's doubtful he killed them since he was there to stop the fighting.
- In the episode "Transforming Into Nami! Bon Clay's Hard-Hitting Ballet Kenpo", Mr. 1 reveals that Zoro killed 100 members of the Baroque Works bounty hunters during the Whiskey Peak arc, not including the 49 that was shown, this gives Zoro an additional 51 kills.
- In the episode "Sand Crocodile and Water Luffy! Death Match: Round 2", it's mentioned that Nico Robin was responsible for destroying six navy ships when she was eight years old 22 years prior, however this is later revealed to have been a lie to frame her.
- In the episode "Everything Began that Day! Vivi Tells of her Adventures!", Hina sinks Bon Clay's ship, however it's revealed in the next episode that they all survived along with at least one of their own.
- Later on, several graves are shown in Alabasta, however it's possible that these are for the royal soldiers and rebels who died in the civil war, so they won't be counted.

- In the episode "Legend of the Rainbow Mist! Old Man Henzo of Luluka Island!", it's mentioned that Rapanui sunk "countless" pirate ships in the past, but it's not mentioned how many of them died.
