OASIS

The OASIS (Ontologically Anthropocentric Sensory Immersive Simulation) is an online multiplayer virtual reality video game created by James Halliday and Ogden Morrow of the company Gregarious Simulation Systems. The Oasis is the main location and plot point for Ready Player One.

At some point after the launch of the OASIS, Morrow left the company leaving the games sole owner as Halliday. When Halliday passed away he hid an easter egg within the game, hidden behind three keys that are obtained by completing three secret levels and missions within the game. The first person who finds the egg would become the owner of the company and the entire OASIS. Eventually the keys are collected by Wade Watts/Parzival, he decides to split ownership of the OASIS evenly with his clan, the High Five. This includes Samantha Cook/Art3mis, Helen Harris/Aech, Toshiro Yoshiaki/Daito and Zhou/Sho.
