The lives of nine women (Elpidia Carrillo/Robin Wright Penn/LisaGay Hamilton/Holly Hunter/Amanda Seyfried/Amy Brenneman/Sissy Spacek/Kathy Baker/Glenn Close) intersect as they deal with infidelity, loss, romance, and motherhood. Cancer sufferer Camille has a hard time facing her potentially fatal disease, prisoner Sandra longs to see her daughter (Chelsea Rendon), and Sonia realizes that her boyfriend is seeing someone else.
