Morbius is a 2022 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel and directed by Daniel Espinosa. Distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, it is the third film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe. It stars Jared Leto, Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Tyrese Gibson, and Michael Keaton and J. K. Simmons in cameos although J.K. Simmons´s cameo was cut from the film. It was followed by Madame Web in 2024.
Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others from the same fate, Dr. Morbius (Jared Leto) attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside of him is soon unleashed.
