Metal Slug is a shoot'em up game series at first released by SNK and released to arcade machines, but was eventually released for consoles, computer and even cellphones as a tower deffense game. After witnessing the success of the first game, several sequels were released. The first game was released in 1996, while the latest one was released in 2023.

Common enemies killed during the the gameplay like Rebel Soldiers will not count in the death list, because there are times when the enemies will not stop spawning until the player advances in the scenario or destroy whatever is generating them.

Trivia[]

  • both in the versions 2 and X of Metal Slug, the rebel soldier crashing his Eaca-B against the Rugname is a homage to Independence Day's pilot Russel Casse in his final act against the invader ship, the City Destroyer.
  • The death of Abul Abbas is a rare feature in the game, as it requires very precise timing to happen. The player must destroy Iron Nokana as it fires its cannons and the cannons must pass through Abul Abbas, otherwise, the death will not happen. In mission 2, if the player is lucky enough to spawn a Golden Bat, the player must be fast enough to collect it beforeit flies away. It is 30.000 points worthy. Alternatively, the player can kill the bat, but will not gain any point.
