Man on Fire is a 2004 American action thriller film directed by the late Tony Scott, produced by Scott, Arnon Milchan, and Lucas Foster, and starring Denzel Washington, Radha Mitchell, Dakota Fanning, Christopher Walken, Marc Anthony, and Mickey Rourke. It is based on the 1980 novel of the same name (written by the late A. J. Quinnell).
A massive wave of kidnappings and crime sweeps Mexico City, causing many of its wealthiest citizens to hire bodyguards for their children. John Creasy (Denzel Washington) is a former CIA agent. Without a job and drinking more than he should, he accepts the offer to be a bodyguard for little Pita (Dakota Fanning), a 10-year-old girl who is the daughter of an industrialist (Marc Anthony). Pita's kidnapping makes him, even injured, set out to rescue her at any cost.
