Justice League is a 2017 American superhero film based on the DC Comics superhero team of the same name, produced by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is the fifth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and is a sequel to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. A director's cut, titled Zack Snyder's Justice League, was released on HBO Max in March 2021. It stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Amber Heard. It was directed by Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon. It was followed by Aquaman in 2018.
Fuelled by his restored faith in humanity, and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly-awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes in Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash, it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
