The past is the present and future in Alain Resnais' new time machine.
—Official tagline

Je t'aime, je t'aime is a surreal/sci-fi/tragedy film released in 1968.

In the film, a suicide survivor is taken into a secret lab by a group of scientists attempting to unlock the ability to time travel. He is placed into a machine that will allow him to travel to the past, but it begins to malfunction causing him to become stuck between space and time, fazing him in and out of his past for seconds at a time. The film was directed by Alain Resnais and stars Claude Rich, Olga Georges-Picot and Anouk Ferjac. The film was a heavy inspiration for the 2004 film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
