Horror of Dracula is a 1958 British Hammer and Universal horror film directed by the late Terence Fisher, produced by the late Anthony Hinds, and starring the late Christopher Lee, the late Peter Cushing, the late Melissa Stribling, the late John Van Eyssen, the late Michael Gough, and the late Carol Marsh. It is the first film in the Hammer franchise Dracula, a remake of the classic 1931 film Dracula and followed by The Brides of Dracula.
Jonathan Harker (John Van Eyssen) dies apparently of a vampire. While investigating his friend's mysterious death, Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) finds a diary that incriminates Count Dracula (Christopher Lee). But Lucy (Carol Marsh), Harker's betrothed, was also attacked by a vampire. The girl's brother and sister-in-law (Melissa Stribling) join Van Helsing to capture the bloodthirsty creature.
