Captain Hikaru Sulu served as a Starfleet officer during the latter half of the 23rd century and into the early 24th century. He served aboard the USS Enterprise and USS Enterprise-A, before commanding the USS Excelsior. He is a major protagonist within Star Trek appearing in Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Animated Series, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, as well as appearing in a range of other media around the franchise.
He is portrayed by George Takei.
