Half-Life: Blue Shift is the second expansion pack for Half-Life, developed by Gearbox Software. It is preceded by Opposing Force and followed by Decay.
The game stars Black Mesa security guard Officer Barney Calhoun in his perspective of the Black Mesa Incident and his efforts to escape the facility while being attacked by invading aliens from the planet Xen and the United States military attempting to keep the events of the resonance cascade caused by Gordon Freeman a secret.
