Get Shorty is a 1995 American black comedy crime film written by Scott Frank, directed by Barry Sonnenfield; starring John Travolta, the late Gene Hackman, the late Dennis Farina, and Jon Gries. It is based on the late Elmore Leonard's 1990 novel of the same name and was followed by a sequel in 2005 titled Be Cool.
A mobster from Miami is tasked with collecting a debt from a famous filmmaker, but uses the opportunity to escape and go into movie production instead.
