End of the Road is a satirical/psychedelic film released in 1970.
In the film, a man is brought to a chaotic asylum by an eccentric psychiatrist after being found in a catatonic state in a train station. After he is released from the asylum, he becomes an English professor and has a dramatic affair with the wife of one of his co-workers. The film was directed by Aram Avakian and stars Stacy Keach, James Earl Jones, Harris Yulin and Dorothy Tristan. It is based off of John Barth's 1958 novel of the same name.
It served as the sole producing credit of screenwriter Terry Southern. The film was considered lost before it was rediscovered and restored in 2012.
