Dracula Untold is a 2014 American action-war horror film directed by Gary Shore, produced by Michael De Luca and starring Luke Evans, Sarah Gadon, Art Parkinson, William Houston, Dominic Cooper and Diarmaid Murtagh. It is a prequel to the films based on Bram Stoker's novel Dracula.
The young prince Vlad (Luke Evans) leads the charge to repel the Ottoman Empire's attempts to use Romania as a foothold to conquer the rest of Europe. In a moment of desperation, Vlad climbs a mountain where a dark magical power resides with the hope of finding something to keep the Turkish hordes at bay. That power helps him defeat the Turks, but this is done by paying the price of his transformation into a creature of the night.
