
The Destruction of The Bridge is a major event in season nine of The Walking Dead tv show, taking place during the episode "What Comes After".
After becoming mortally wounded by falling onto a rebar pipe, Rick Grimes makes his way to the camp site where the bridge was being constructed while being followed by a horde of Walkers and in order to save the communities and his family, Rick shoots a pile of dynamite to blow up the bridge and send all the Walkers into the river below to their deaths. Rick survives thanks to Jadis, though everyone else believes he died in the process, except for Daryl Dixon.
