Civil War is a Marvel Comics series that ran from May 2006 to February 2007 lasting seven issues and includes Tie-in comics with other Marvel series. It is part of the event of the same name and takes place on Earth-616.
The event follows the superhuman registration act, a law introduced following the New Warriors incident, where super heroes would have to register to the act, working for SHIELD and revealing their secret identities. This decision splits the superhero community in two sides, one lead by Iron Man (Pro-Registration), the other lead by Captain America (Anti-Registration). The main series was written by Mark Millar and penciled by Steve McNiven.
