
Chinatown is a 1974 American neo-noir film written by Robert Towne and Roman Polanski, who also directed. The film stars Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway. It was followed by a sequel in 1990 titled The Two Jakes.
A private investigator searches for answers when a man he had previously investigated for adultery is found drowned in a freshwater reservoir.
