An On-Rail Shooter is a type of video game mostly played in arcades where the player is unable to move, but is given a weapon with unlimited ammunition and is tasked with surviving until they make to the end of every level.
Because of how on-rail shooters are designed, the amount of enemies always stays the same with every playthrough. Some on-rail shooters require the player to kill every enemy on-screen while others only need a specific amount to progress.
