Jedi are fictional characters in the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas. They have been featured in a number of Star Wars media, including the live-action films Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002), Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005), Episode IV: A New Hope (1977), Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983), Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015), Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017), Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (2019), the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) and its follow-up television series of the same name (2008–2014; 2020), the Star Wars Rebels animated series (2014–2018), and the Star Wars: The Bad Batch animated series (2021-), the live-action television series The Mandalorian (2019-), The Book of Boba Fett (2021-2022), and Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022), as well as comics, novels, and video games of the Star Wars Legends expanded universe.
