Carrie is a 2002 supernatural horror film, based on the 1974 novel by Stephen King and the second film adaptation and re-imagining of the novel after the 1976 film Carrie, and the third film in the Carrie franchise, preceded by The Rage: Carrie 2. It was written by Bryan Fuller, directed by David Carson, and stars Angela Bettis in the leading role. It is followed by a 2013 remake of the same name.
Carrie White (Angela Bettis, Jodelle Ferland) is a lonely and painfully shy teenage girl with telekinetic powers who is slowly pushed to the edge of insanity by frequent bullying from both her classmates and her domineering, religious mother (Patricia Clarkson).
