Burke & Hare is a 2010 comedy/fictionalized documentary film directed by John Landis, based off of the real life serial killers and body snatchers, William Burke and William Hare. It stars Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis, Tom Wilkinson, Tim Curry, and the late Christopher Lee. Not to be confused with the 1972 film of the same name.
Macabre comedy based on the Burke and Hare murders carried out in the early 19th century. Dr Knox required bodies for dissection and use in lectures, and Burke and Hare found it a rather lucrative business to 'provide' these bodies in return for payment.
