Bully is an American film released in 2001 and inspired by a true event, starring Brad Renfro, Rachel Miner, Bijou Phillips, Nick Stahl, and Michael Pitt. Written by David McKenna (under the name Zachary Long) and Roger Pullis, it is an adaptation of the book Bully: A True Story of High School Revenge by Jim Schutze. The film is directed by Larry Clark.
As Bobby Kent lay bleeding on July 14, 1993, he called out for help, and then mercy from his friends. Their response was quick and deliberate. Larry Clark's "Bully" chronicles the incident that would leave a community stunned, parents nonplussed and heartbroken and a group of defendants convicted of a brutal crime for which they never repented.
