Blue Beetle is an American superhero film based on the DC Comics character with the same name. It is the 14th installment in the DC Extended Universe. Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios, Double Dream, and the Disco Factory, it was released on August 18, 2023. It stars Xolo Maridueña, Belissa Escobedo, Damián Alcázar, Elpidia Carrillo, Susan Sarandon, George Lopez, and Adriana Barraza. It was directed by Ángel Manuel Soto. It was followed by Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in 2023.
An alien scarab chooses college graduate Jaime Reyes to be its symbiotic host, bestowing the teenager with a suit of armor that's capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the superhero known as Blue Beetle.
