The Battle for Iacon was an event that took place before Transformers: Animated. The battle was between the Autobots, led by Ultra Magnus, and the decepticons, led by Megatron, who were trying to capture the space bridge nexus by force. The victor was the Autobots, however, it came at the cost of the majority of the remaining Omega Sentinels. After this battle, the decepticons were banished to New Kaon rather than killed. This battle marks the end of The Great War on Cybertron.
