Army of Shadows (French: L'Armée des ombres | Italian: L'armata degli eroi) is a war/political thriller film released in 1969.
In the film, various people in Vichy France join an underground resistance movement for the sake of their own people. One particular man is wanted by the Gestapo, and he must play his cards as carefully as possible, as the slightest slip-up is equal to death. The film was directed by Jean-Pierre Melville and stars Lino Ventura, Paul Meurisse, Jean-Pierre Cassel and Simone Signoret.
