A Quiet Place in the Country (Italian: Un tranquillo posto di campagna | French: Un coin tranquille à la campagne) is a psychological horror film released in 1968.
In the film, an erratic artist moves into a rural dilapidated villa where a young woman was murdered twenty years prior. While there, he begins to encounter seemingly supernatural activities, leading him to fear that someone, or something, has returned. The film was directed by Elio Petri and stars Vannesa Redgrave, Franco Nero and Georges Géret. It is based off of Oliver Onions' 1911 short story The Beckoning Fair One.
