A Haunting in Venice is a 2023 American mystery film produced and directed by Kenneth Branagh from a screenplay by Michael Green loosely based on the 1969 Agatha Christie novel Hallowe'en Party. It serves as a sequel to Death on the Nile (2022) and is the third film in which Branagh portrays the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot.
Now retired from solving mysteries and living in self-imposed exile in the world's most glamorous city, Venice, Italy, Poirot reluctantly attends a seance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. He soons gets thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets when one of the guests is murdered as he returns to his mystery-solving glory.
