10 Things I Hate About You is a 1999 American teen romantic comedy film directed by Gil Junger in his film directorial debut. It stars Julia Stiles, the late Heath Ledger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Larisa Oleynik. It is a modernization of the late William Shakespeare's comedy The Taming of the Shrew, retold in a late-1990s American high school setting.
A high-school boy, Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), cannot date his crush (Larisa Oleynik) until her anti-social older sister, Kat (Julia Stiles), has a boyfriend. So, Cameron pays a mysterious boy, Patrick (Heath Ledger), to charm Kat.
